はじめまして、新インターン生の荒岡華奈（あらおか　かんな）です。

フィリピン大好き！なんとフィリピン来るのはこれが４度目。大学時代のゼミでフィリピンの貧困問題に携わったことをきっかけに、ゼミの調査で２回、UUUオーケストラで１回フィリピンに来たことがあります。でもセブ島は初めて、これから甘くておいし〜いマンゴーをたくさん食すつもりです♪（笑）

現在はイギリスのEast Anglia大学に国際開発学修士学位を取得目的のために留学中で、夏の間だけどんよりした天気から解放され（笑）、２ヶ月これからセブンスピリットでお世話になります！はやく子どもたちの名前を覚えたいなあ〜。

セブンスピリットとの出会いは、2014年（４期）UUUオーケストラin マニラ（以下UUU）に参加したこと。吹奏楽部には入っていたけれど（ちなみにトロンボーンです）、演奏面でくじけることばかり、引け目を感じることもあり自信も失いかけていました。そんなとき大学の部室にUUUのポスターを見つけ、「フィリピンで演奏会？！（当時はすでにフィリピンを一度経験済みでした）音楽で国際協力？（国際協力ゼミに入っていました）しかもアナ雪？！（５期の演奏曲目でした、let it go大好き♪）私にピッタリ、行きたい！！！」とほぼ運命のように感じワクワクして応募したことを覚えています。現地ではたくさんの子どもたちにオーケストラの生演奏を届けられ、とっても可愛い笑顔をたくさん見ることが出来ました。「貧しくても自分の好きなこと、楽しいことをしていいんだ。衣食住を整えることだけが国際協力じゃない！」ということを教えてくれたこの出会いは、とても大切なものになりました。

自己紹介が長くなりましたが、これから2ヶ月他のインターン生と共にブログを書いていきたいと思います。質問やコメントくださったら嬉しいです！こんなこと知りたい！ということでもぜひコメントくださいね。

今回は7月13日（水）私のインターンとして二日目の出来事をシェアしたいと思います！

この日はコーラスクラスのレッスン。ただいま練習しているのは「Les Miserablesメドレー」。

これは「At the End of the Day」の楽譜です。テンポが速いんですよね〜。最初聞いた時に歌詞読むだけで「わお。」となりました（笑）

ソプラノ・アルト・バスでそれぞれの音程をとるのも難しい…。

それぞれ自分のパートを歌うので精一杯、なかなかみんなの声がそろいません…。

しかーし！のぶさんのご指導のもと、これから9月の本番までたくさん練習していきますよ！

 

 

 

「Les Miserablesメドレー」、耳に残る曲ばかりですね。私は「I dreamed a dream」がとっても美しいなあと思います。歌詞がとても感動します…！

 

そしてこの日は我らがスタッフErikkの誕生日！

 

 

 

誕生日を迎えた人がおもてなしをする文化のあるフィリピン、彼は今回スパゲッティを作ってくれました！フィリピンのスパゲッティは甘いんですよ〜。大の甘党国家、甘さで暑さを凌ぐのだとか…。

Hello, my name is Kanna! I’m working for Seven Spirit as an intern until the end of August.

This is my forth visit to the Philippines! I studied the issue of poverty in the Philippines when I was at the university in Japan, and so conducted a research with my classmates in Manila and Bicol twice, and participated in UUU orchestra program in Manila 2 years ago. But I had never been to Cebu, so am excited to eat a lot of sweetest mangos in the world during my stay!

Currently I am a student in the UK to get a Masters degree of international development. Escaping from cloudy whether, I am working here for one and half month. My first priority at the moment is to remember all children’s names…

I joined in the UUU project in 2014, which was my first encounter to Seven Spirit. I was almost losing my confidence of my musical skills as a trombone player at brass band club of my uni, when I found a poster about UUU!

“Holding some concerts in the Philippines!? International development through music!? Will they play ‘let it go’!? I would like to join as well!” I thought it must have meant to be that I would join!

During our stay in Manila, we were able to deliver ‘the first experience to enjoy a live orchestral music’  for most of children, to see a lot of adorable smiles spread on their faces. Thanks to this project, I was able to realise that international development is not only helping the third countries through giving them basic infrastructures, for instance houses, food and cloths , but also through what they can enjoy despite of poverty.

And I would like to share with you what we did on July 13th.

We had chorus classes on this day, practiced ‘Les Miserables medley’.

This is the score of ‘At the End of the Day’, in which we struggle with very fast tempo!

It is also difficult for them to sing in proper tune divided in soprano, alto and bass…

But we will keep practicing with Nobu, who is one of a chorus teacher! Practice makes perfect!

 

And it was Erikk (one of our staff) ‘s birthday on that day!

In this county, it is very common for the birthday person to prepare food for everyone. So he cooked Filipino spaghetti as a snack!

Did you know that Filipino spaghetti is very sweet? People eat sweet food a lot so that they can withstand the heat…
